Studio Detritus #2, 2020

Studio Detritus #2 is a mixed media sensory painting created by Luke Abdallah. The detritus and by-products collected from Luke’s very hands-on painting practice have been adhered to a canvas, and coated in a spectrum of blue acrylic paint. Some of the objects Luke has assembled include empty paint tubes, masking tape reels, bottle caps, leaves, fabric and half-cut tennis balls. Luke has painted the entire composition with black acrylic paint, and then re-coated with dark navy blues, progressing to lighter blues with each coat and finally finishing with white highlights.
