This work of Luke’s varies slightly from his regular use of cane painting. Alternately, Luke has used a large, soft, rounded brush to create soft splatter work. The background of this painting is black, but covered with a soft silver sheen, produced through the use of a fine aerosol mist. There are then layers of splatter work starting with dark and light turquoise, followed by light grey and finished with white. The work is highly textural, impasto mixed with the splattered paint has produced a dense surface which Luke encourages his audiences to touch, as the splatters can be enjoyed both visually and through the aide of texture.
