The background of this work exhibits a matte black, which covers both the canvas and frame. Thick brushstrokes of white paint have then been added, stemming from the lower centre of the canvas and branching towards the top, with some of the strokes also mark-making on the frame. Gold, thick strokes compose the next layer, and thin white cane painting completes the work.
