This cane painting has been produced primarily with a large brush taped to the end of Luke’s cane. The background of the work is a dark combination of blacks, blues and purples, overlayed with long, thick strokes of silvers, shiny blues and turqoises, originating at the bottom, centre of the board. On top of this are many layers of drops and thinner strokes, also starting at the lower mid section, including bright orange and yellow, cool reds, pastel pinks and a myriad of purples and blues. The work is highly textural, with concrete used on the base, and layers of paint adding to the visual and textural representation of energy.
