Displaying a myriad of complementary and contrasting colours, this piece celebrates the beauty of things sometimes dismissed or overlooked.

Created primarily with energetic brushwork, as opposed to Luke’s signature cane painting technique, the background of this work is a deep, rich black, overlayed with large brushwork, producing irregular dots in pale pinks, blues, yellows and creams. These spots have been added with watery paint, creating soft drips down the canvas. The final layer consists of translucent, dark, bluey-green dots and vivid, bright orange and yellow dots, added with a small brush. The sharpness of these small dots contrasts to the dripping and blended work beneath them.
